Webinar: Using Decanting to Change an Irrevocable Trust – with Case Studies!

Using Decanting to Change an Irrevocable Trust – with Case Studies!

There must be tens of thousands of people who have set up irrevocable trusts and now want to change the terms of the trusts. It is now possible, through a special technique called Decanting, to change many of the terms of the trusts. We call these trusts “Do-Over Trusts” because of the ability to make changes. Decanting a trust is the process of setting up a new irrevocable trust for one or more of the same beneficiaries and transferring the trust assets from the first trust to the new trust, thereby changing the terms. One of the great features of this technique is that you don’t need millions of dollars in a trust for it to be helpful. Even a trust with a few hundred thousand dollars is a likely decanting candidate! This special webcast will examine how this can be done and why you may be missing opportunities for your clients. This webcast is designed for attorneys, CPAs, financial advisors, trust officers, and life insurance advisors who wish to take their practice to a new level. The webcast will be presented with a number of case studies so the attendees will be able to recognize opportunities to decant trusts. There is no telling how many new clients attendees will gain through having this special knowledge.
